May 4th we appreciated the arts. Puppet show at the library. No Grandpa George but still fun. Later we went to Everett's class art show at Studios on the Park in Paso Robles. He and one of his classmates both had casts and they enjoyed causing chaos "cast fighting." We didn't stay long.

Lydia at her favorite place, Madonna Inn. Or as she calls it, "Adonna Inn." She often talks about taking Brian and Everett to see it, and she doesn't understand why they aren't insisting on making the trip right away! It's so pink and beautiful!
Miscellaneous pictures! Automobile repair, Lydia loves baking (and will bug me until we bake--persistent girl!), Roz has an adorable frog sound "ooo-ah!," Roz looking cute and fashionable, and french braids for Lydia!
Everett turned SEVEN!! He eats a peanut butter and jam sandwich with a glass of milk almost every morning, so I stacked the halves and stuck a candle in. Fancy!
Phil and Gion had us over the evening of the 15th for a family birthday dinner. Lydia spent the day with them and picked out the decorations. Girl has an eye! Everett had asked for Fatte's meatball pizza. That's easy! And Lydia helped pick out the perfect cake at Vons.
Everett got his cast off!! We were all so excited! Having that thing on his arm made it hard to do is work and participate in many activities. It was a bummer and his behavior suffered. So happy he's healing well too!
Roz did NOT like the sound of the saw. Happens enough that the doctor warned us she might be upset. He was very right.
It got hot enough for water balloons and popsicles!! And then it promptly got chilly again. But nice to get a taste of summer.
We've been attending the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Here's Brian working with the kids on puzzles of their Puzzle Pals (basically Secret Santa).
After having a picnic with the Puzzle Pals, we went to the Atascadero Democratic Club picnic. Picnic Day!
Chocolate baby and Lydia got new teeth!! Her partial was remade and replaced. They're bigger and whiter than her previous set, which I find funny. Most kids don't get an intermediate size in between baby and adult teeth.
Gion and Phil continue to take Roz to gymnastics. They tell me she's getting more interested, even in circle time, but she steers clear of the other kids. I guess she gets enough social time at home with her wild brother and sister.
Everett got the Friday before Memorial Day off. He was so excited to help drop Lydia off at preschool and spend the whole day with Phil and Gion. Woohoo!!
After picking Lydia up, we went shopping, and they got to ride in style.

We had a birthday party for Everett!! Since he wanted to invite his whole class, we knew we couldn't host at our house (not enough parking). The Lake Park seemed like the perfect place, but all the BBQ areas you can reserve are down the hill away from the playground, and parents often have to take their kids to play and miss the party. So Rachel had the genius idea of just setting up by the playground. No reservation. Daring! The invite said "in between playground and bandstand." We ended up closer to the lake than I imagined, so the kids had fun skipping rocks for a bit too. It was perfect!
We brought sand toys, the tic-tac-toe game, balloons, food, and a piñata that Brian and the kids found and filled earlier that day. It was all pretty thrown together last minute, but we got to celebrate Everett and it was a great mix of school friends and longtime friends.
After music class on Tuesday, we went to visit Brian at his work! The girls loved this huge indoor swing they have.
Until next month! June will be pretty busy. I'm kinda scared. But I'm sure we'll have a blast!
